Ya know what, just when I had decided that Season 5 was crappy... they give me 2 episodes in a row that I like.
First of all, let me say that David Hewlett was absolutely AMAZING in this. I really suck at reviews... my thoughts are too scattered, so I'm just going to point out my favorite parts.
- The first scene between McKay and his sister... God, it almost had me in tears.
- The video flashbacks... heartbreaking
- Ronon, I wuv him. He's so secretly a Klingon.
- John's plaid shirt. Lol, I actually screamed out "PLAID!!" and pointed at the screen. I don't think anybody else understood...
- The beer scene with John and Rodney. Arthur, ROFL
- The McKay/Keller bits. I'm not really what you'd call a shipper of them, but I could be easily persuaded, lol. They're awfully cute.
Parts I didn't enjoy so much were...
- Woolsey (I don't know, I just found some of his scenes to be... odd...?)
- Keller's insistence that he not go, even when EVERYBODY ELSE thought it was a good idea. Glad she got over-ruled... 'cause she was wrong.
- Elizabeth not being there. God, could you have imagined the extra emotion that would have been there if she had?
But yeah, I enjoyed it. I <3 Rodney. I actually hadn't been feeling as much Rodney love lately... because I've found him to be extra whiny this season. All him and John ever seem to do anymore is bicker. They're both just so negative (way more than they used to be, and for Rodney that's saying a lot, lol) all the time... It was getting a bit old. It was great to see another side of Rodney again.
