captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (sga - lost city)

My whole computer-life flashed before my eyes yesterday, lol. When I turned my computer on before the Atlantis series finale, I heard this god-awful noise from the CPU and started freaking out. In between the *OMG's* I thought about all the fic I've worked on in the past 3 months, including the 9 mini_nano stories I still haven't posted (somebody needs to light a fire under my butt on that) and the 10 or so others I've started since then, none of which were backed up. Not to mention all of the pictures, resources, etc... I have stored on here. Anyway, my father came in (because I was getting quite loud and panicky, lol) and thwapped it on the back, near where the fan is. It stopped making the noise and seems to be fine. It certainly scared the life out of me though and I spent the rest of the night worrying about it. I hope it wasn't something serious... maybe something just caught in the fan?

And, of course, last night was the Stargate Atlantis finale. My stomach was in knots watching it (although I think some of that had to do with the computer problems, lol) and I felt a bit teary eyed in spots. I don't think it's been a secret that there have been a lot of things about SGA post S3 that I haven't liked (*cough-cast-changes-cough*)... but I'm bummed that it's over. I really love these characters and I'm going to miss seeing them every week especially John. I wish all of the cast good luck on their future endeavors and hope that they end up on successful shows. There was more I wanted to say last night after it aired, but I could not connect to the internet at all yesterday... and now I can't remember what I wanted to say, lol. No internet also means I have a lot of F-List catching up to do.

I had a weird dream a few nights ago. Somehow I ended up stranded out in the middle of nowhere with a few people (I don't remember a lot of details, but I get the feeling that there was some type of doomsday and we thought we were some of the last people left on Earth). Eventually we happened upon a big raised house and, after wandering through several rooms, we came upon one with tons of shelves lined with tv series DVD's. Lol, so I mention that we can live happily here... until I notice that *dun dun dun* they don't have Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, *lolz*. Later, when we were out on the porch we found Rodney McKay, whom I was very glad to see. And I don't remember anything else after that.

Speaking of BSG, I've just started watching Season 2 and I think I can officially say that I've been sucked in. I was hoping to be all caught up by the time the series picks up again next week, but I'm not sure if that'll happen. Hopefully not more than a few weeks later than that though.

We all went out for my mother's birthday a few nights ago. My nephew ordered Calamari for an appetizer so I decided to try it (which probably surprised me more than anybody, lol)... and I actually liked it. My sister refused to try it though, which amused me to no end because she's always made a big deal out of my niece and nephew trying something new and even used to pay them $$ to do so. I understand why she didn't want to, there are some things I just wont try... but it was still funny.

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (weir - clouds)

I had an odd dream last night. I can't really remember the specifics but I know Daniel Jackson was in the first part, searching for something. Then later on, Odo and Kira ended up running up and down hills and it started to snow. I think they were running for the Stargate (lol)... and that's all I remember. I really need to start writing these things down right after I wake up.

I'm assuming Daniel was there beause I've been watching a lot of SG-1 lately (just saw "Lifeboat" yesterday... which Michael Shanks was just ♥ in). I really have no idea what Odo and Kira were doing there though. I haven't watched Deep Space Nine in many months.

And completely irrelevant to that, but I just downloaded the Little Big Town "A Place To Land" CD off of i-tunes last night. It was only $7.99 for 16 songs. Does it get better than that? And because John/Elizabeth seem to run my brain, these lines from the song "That's Where I'll Be" caught my attention and totally made me think of them.

Without you I'm only driftin'
Through a life that I'm not living
Without you I'm a heart without a home

I think I'll probably do something what that, maybe a wallpaper or signature banner.

I was also pleased to see that the free i-tunes single of the week was one I would have gotten anyway, "Cheater Cheater" by Joey and Rory, who were contestants on the CMT show "Can You Duet?". I watched it casually because, as a whole, I wasn't that fond of it... which may have something to do with the fact that Naomi Judd gets on my last nerve (Wynonna, however, I love). But anyway, that particular couple was beyond cuteness... Like, if they were tv characters, I would totally ship them. But I don't have to because they're real and married, lol. And, just because, the video for the song is below.
